Σημεῖον ἐστιν, οὗ μέρος οὐθέν. A point is that which has no part.
Γραμμὴ δὲ μῆκος ἀπλατές. A line is breadthless length.
Γραμμῆς δὲ πέρατα σημεῖα. The ends of a line are points.
Εὐθεῖα γραμμή ἐστιν, ἥτις ἐξ ἴσου τοῖς ἐφ’ἑαυτῆς σεμείοις κεῖται. A straight line is a line which lies evenly with the points on itself.
